Thank you for the trip of my life! Everything about Ladakh is perfect, from the landscape to its people.. just plain humbling. I will be craving it forever. Can't fairly pinpoint a favourite part, but I was awestruck by Turtuk, and its nature. The "freezing point" is a must-see for all, the "Rintak" a testament to "Simple is beautiful". Rahmataulla is the epitome of the perfect guide, so gracious and knowledgeable. The tent stay at Nubra was awesome, we could hear running streams everywhere, even when they were invisible. Rafting at Chilling was probably the highlight, I actually got to touch the Indus!! And Karma, our driver, is already sorely missed.
Srinagar is stunning, the Dal lake, houseboat, Muzaffar Bhai, Bashir Khan, Riaz the Shikhara guy who entertained us with great bollywood tunes and facts about "mobile farming", the horse-ride in Pehelgam, siiiigh, I wish I could live there forever.
It was also very touching that you called every so often to check up on us, and see that everything was running smoothly.

It was an absolutely incredible trip, one of the best if not THE best I ever had. I found this site just by a lucky chance and wrote to Mr. Amish, the Chief Gypsy asking some questions about the Northern area of India. We never met, and still he helped me just with EVERYTHING: information, itinerary, logistic, accommodation. Thanks to his assistance I was able to visit so many places and yet was not bound to a particular package, which for me is very important. I went hiking, horse and camel riding, made some trips in a shared car and in taxi. EVERYTHING ABSOLUTELY MARVELLOUS. Think I'll become a Footloose Gypsy on a permanent basis.
